December wishlist

After spending a lot of time commuting through central Cambridge every weekday I have become a hawk of sorts, eyeing up Zara's stock on an almost daily basis. That being said; I have comprised a wishlist of 5 item's I am idolizing right now. The first checked coat is just gorgeous. It reminds me of the sort of tweed jacket my dad would wear out on walks; maybe that's why I love it, the classic cut and earthy tones make it a winner for me. For a while now I have been hunting for the perfect pair of cigarette trousers. Now I must admit it's unusual for me to wear anything other than jeans so I do find the whole trouser thing a little odd; when I try them on I'm stood there glaring at them like 'is my bum supposed to look this baggy or?' I'm still yet to try a Topshop pair though so not all hope is lost. I hadn't seen this blouse until searching on the website, it gives me mumzy vibes... though I'm not sure about how I feel about that. Nevertheless I think it would look super chic paired with the trousers and loafers. I'm a huge fan of loafers. Loafers and well, all flat non-trainer shoes seem to despise my feet. I'm loving the tortoise look though, it adds a unique touch to a classic style. Lastly is the funnel neck jumper: it beamed at me in the store and I had to compose myself and say I didn't need it... my heart yearns for it though. I'm sure it'll sneak into my wardrobe sometime soon.

To be free

It's December? What on earth. Is it just me or is time flying by really quickly? I feel like I haven't stopped since I've started college again this year. A2 is crunch time for sure. Balancing a-levels and life is difficult, it seems I've ditched my social life in an attempt to buy some time for coursework. I also came to my senses and saw how unimportant social media is. I realised how much time I used to waste scrolling through photos and tweets- and for what? The apps have been banished and I'm happy to say I feel liberated; I don't need it. I have fallen in love with reading again and I urge anyone to assess what's important in life and what isn't. That was a little deep maybe, but I want to have the best chance in life, be educated and appreciate real things. Sometimes I feel like fashion and clothes are materialistic things and I shouldn't be so interested in it. And then I see that I don't perceive clothing like that at all. I believe clothing is an expression, you can't help what clothes you love or hate. Today I saw a girl on my way to college in these massive, bright red fluffy boots; an oversized geometric style coat and a big floppy hat. I would never have picked that outfit out, but let me tell you she rocked the sh*t out of it. That is what's amazing about fashion. It's art.

Keeping it simple

Wednesdays are my short days and I finish at 11:15am so grabbed my camera and got a few photos of today's outfit. I recently moved house and have had a lot of college coursework and other good stuff like uni application deadlines going on too so I haven't had time to blog anything for a while. Either way I wanted to style this incredible longline jumper that I bought a few weeks ago. After I got home I debated adding jewellery, a scarf or something to spice it up... and then I realised, this is how I rolled out of my house this morning, this was how I rocked up to college, why change it for my blog?

I had been eyeing the jumper up for quite some time, wandering in and out of newlook on separate occasions making sure I really liked it before I bought it. I'm not exactly frivolous with my money and am trying to be a little more selfless and ultimately stop buying clothes I won't wear. In the end I obviously caved in and bought it, but it's perfect for the weather and was so happy to snuggle into it this morning. As you can see it is a pretty basic outfit but I'm slowly trying to work out my style, and I like the simple 'threw this on at 7am' kind of look.

Last days of summer

Me and my friend Sunny went on a trip to the Fitzwillaim museum in Cambridge today; I had honestly been wanting to go for ages. I was pretty giddy this morning before we went, excited doesn't even explain it. I love museums and just exploring new buildings, architecture and generally looking at lots of amazing art is so peaceful- especially since museums are so quiet.

Please excuse how unused to the camera I look, this was the first time I have had outfit photos taken in public, hopefully it'll get better in time!! It got up to about 18°C so turned out to be a beautiful day. It's really awkward finding the right outfit for this time of year since I have to wake up early for college and it's freezing cold but by midday its really warm. Though this morning I just threw a jumper over this outfit and bared the cold on my toes for a few hours.

I got this top on my summer uniform this year and I really like it, it's not something that I probably would've bought with my own money, but I like how minimal the pattern is and the slits up the side were a RI statement back in the summer so I joined the bandwagon on that one. My jeans are my mums old ones but I've taken them in slightly and given them a raw edge - mostly because I'm fed up of seeing all my jeans rolled up since I'm so damn short legged aahhhh.

Silver lining

This morning me and my parents left the house to travel into London for Middlesex open day, unfortunately after being on campus for 5 minutes I realised that it wasn't for me- It was one of those strange feelings where it just didn't feel right. We ended up leaving before the talk and going to the Hatfield galleria outlet shopping centre and having a fab day out. I found a beautiful mustard tote bag and I didn't buy it, the regret is real (heart cracks into two). By half 1 I was starving so ended up eating in Bella Italia and had Cannelloni Ricotta which was pasta filled with spinach and let me tell you it was amazing! It just goes to show that every cloud does have a silver lining, even though I didn't like the uni, I had a great day out in London and made some more memories.

As for the outfit; I'm absolutely in love with this jacket, as soon as I saw this at work I just had to have it. It's pretty lightweight and is perfect for upcoming autumnal weather and layering over any daytime outfit. While in Primark the other day I saw these square hoop earrings, they were such a bargain for only £1 and have worn them everyday since.

September buy's

I am extremely excited for autumn, to me its the perfect time of year; not too cold and not too hot.
I'm ready for cozy nights in, (like I didn't do that anyway lol), firework night and just enjoying a new season for what it is. Not to mention that the trees turning yellow and orange is just beautiful-am I right?

I always think outfits look so effortless yet well put together when you've just thrown on about a dozen layers. I've been a little more concious recently about what I've been buying and if I'll actually get enough use out of it. I've recently-ish discovered depop which has been a godsend as I've managed to sell lots of my un-worn clothes and have made some money to re-vamp my wardrobe. Luckily for me I also get free uniform at work every season, hence the kimono top and pleather skirt (two thumbs up and a fist pump for that!)

Exploring the UK

Its been a little while since I last posted and I feel like a lot has changed. So first off, I had my green  hair cut off - about 13 inches. I originally tried bleaching out the colour but my hair was having none of it, I just ended up frying my hair, and it looked a mess so the only sensible option was to cut it off; and I've been loving it short!
Secondly, I GOT A NEW LAPTOP!! This means I can blog much more often and produce better content.

During the holidays me and my family have been away to Kent and Shropshire, I've had an incredible summer and want to share some moments on my blog.

These photo's are from the second beach we visited, as you can see the weather was perfect for a day at the beach.

After wandering the beach and playing pool in the B&B's garden's summer house we all went out for a meal at the local pub in Whitstable.

This is my sister, Amber.
Her dress is from Tesco's - its such a lovely print.
And her sunglasses are from Newlook.

Everything I'm wearing is from River Island

Although I'm in love with the sea, I think it's fair to say that I enjoyed Shropshire just a little more.
I mean honestly look at this view.

On the second day in Shropshire we took a trip to Attingham Park. Words can't describe how breathtaking it all was.

Unfortunately I couldn't go into the house because of the dogs but looking at the architecture from the outside was good enough for me.

This was my casual outfit for the day
Top - Urban Outfitters
Shorts - Topshop
Shoes - Nike

After walking around the park we then visited Ironbridge town.

Quite picturesque really with shops and houses climbing up the hills.

We topped off the day with a few drinks and a beautiful view.

On the last day we visited Shrewsbury town which was full of Victorian architecture.
We followed signs to "The Quarry" and I could not have been more surprised as to how enchanting the whole place was.
I felt like I was in a magic garden.
I don't think my camera knew what to focus on; neither did I in all honesty.

Later on in the evening we all went to eat, I had a bowl of veggie 3 bean chilli and home-made chips- it was incredible! I felt like I was about to burst after finishing it all. Hands down one of the best meals I've ever had and I can strongly say I regret nothing.

My trips have 100% made me realise the beauty of the UK. British heritage, architecture and landscapes are so fascinating and I often forget to appreciate it in everyday life. Here's to appreciating the beauty around us!

Beach boho

I only got round to taking two pictures of my outfit while at the beach so I had to slightly improvise and take some more later on.
I am in LOVE with this lace top, it easily gives off a free-spirited vibe, plus it has bell sleeves and lace up detailing...like a hippy's dream. I put a white cami underneath to cover up the goods as the lace top is very see-through. I paired them with some ripped jeans (gotta love 'em) which seem to add to the carefree look. Everything is from River Island besides my shoes which are from Primark.

On Sundays me and my family nearly always go on an outing of some sorts, the dogs usually come along too. We took a walk up the beach front and let the dogs have a swim and chase the ball and bark..and bark..and bark. After we got annoyed sufficiently by their barking and the high winds (literally what happened) we went back to the car park and ate ice-cream.

I'm not sure if you can tell, but we bought large ice-creams which looking back I slightly regret because I was not feeling fab on the way home; eyes too big for my stomach situation I think...

Thursday 16 July 2015

It came to my conclusion today that I don't explore enough, so I went on a 2 hour dog walk and found a track up a hill with corn fields as far as the eye could see which was pretty beautiful.

Ripped jeans

Thought I'd quickly share my outfit today...
I went into town for a couple of hours this morning to help my sister find an outfit for a night out, besides that I've just been doing some photography (Link to photography post)

Oh and by the way I dyed the ends of my hair blue about 2 months ago, I'm thinking of going purple/pink next. I feel like I should've posted about that, maybe next time...

Right so...
